The Burke Family

My Life Growing Up

My family is from a suburban town on the North side of Chicago, IL, called Glenview. Glenview is exactly what one would imagine suburbia to look like. Spread out houses and tons of open and green space that made it an ideal place to raise children. I grew up the middle child of three children having an older brother, Nicholas, and a younger sister, Bailey. As a kid I attended my local public schools of: Lyon School, Pleasant Ridge, Attea Middle School, and Glenbrook South High School.

I was involved many sports as a child including: soccer, karate, football, baseball, tennis, basketball, water skiing, wakeboarding, and diving. Sports and spending time at home with the family were a large part of my life. Growing up my extended family also played a large role in my life. During the summer, our family would spend time at our lake house in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. There we would hang out with my entire extended family on my Mother’s side on a weekly basis. I spent countless hours with my cousins, aunts and uncles on the lake. This caused me to have a very strong sense of what it means to be a part of a family.
